100 Days In: Rep. Sarah McBride Delivers for Delawareans, Pushes Back on Trump Administration Overreach

April 21, 2025

WILMINGTON, DE — Today, Delaware’s Congresswoman Sarah McBride celebrates her 100th day serving the greatest state in the union in the U.S. House of Representatives. Since being sworn in on January 3, Rep. McBride has made clear that her focus is on results, not rhetoric, working across the aisle to deliver for Delawareans while standing firm against the worst excesses of the Trump Administration.

“I promised I’d work with anyone who’s willing to work with me to deliver for Delawareans—and that’s exactly what I’ve done,” said Rep. McBride. “From restoring funding for manufacturing to standing up for seniors and caregivers, I’ve been focused on building a government that works for the people of Delaware.”

In just her first 100 days, Rep. McBride has:

  • Introduced two bipartisan bills that would address scammers and the cost of eggs for Delawareans.
  • Helped to introduce two bills to address manufacturing funding and sanctions against an Iranian-backed terrorist group.
  • Restored federal funding for Delaware manufacturers and stood up to the Trump administration for ripping promised funds from other critical programs serving Delawareans.
  • Co-sponsored more than 120 bills, including 75 bipartisan bills and 24 led by Republicans.
  • Joined her colleagues in sending over 100 letters, demanding answers from the Trump Administration on policies that harm Delawareans.
  • Helped 296 Delawareans with casework yielding over $360,000 returned to constituents.
  • Traveled more than 3,000 miles across the state, visiting constituents in Seaford, Newark, Magnolia, Rehoboth, and beyond.

Delivering for Delaware:

Restored federal funding for the Delaware Manufacturing Extension Partnership (DEMEP) after the Trump Administration attempted to eliminate it—protecting 423 manufacturing jobs and $77.5M in economic activity.

Introduced the bipartisan Ending Scam Credit Repair Act (ESCRA) to crack down on scammers in the so-called “credit repair” industry.

Introduced the bipartisan SAVE Our Poultry Act, focused on combating avian flu and bringing down costs for families at the grocery store and farmers after hearing directly from Delaware farmer Mike Puglisi.

Defended Social Security, co-sponsoring legislation to protect beneficiary and legislation to block field office closures and prevent staffing cuts that threaten benefits for over 241,000 Delawareans.

Voted against the Republican budget proposal, which would slash Medicaid and weaken services that roughly 1 in 4 Delawareans rely on.

Fighting back against efforts to defund public health, including Trump Administration attempts to pull $38 million in disease prevention and overdose response funding from Delaware.

Opposing attempts to dismantle the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which supports Delaware’s 33 public libraries with $1.39 million in grant funding.

Led calls to exempt essential childcare necessities like car seats and cribs from Trump’s new tariffs, warning of added costs for working families.

Serving Delawareans:

Rep. McBride’s constituent advocate team has opened over 296 constituent casework requests in their first 100 days. They have already returned $360,000 to constituents from federal agencies.

Monthly, the constituent advocate team sends a casework survey to all constituents that have recently closed cases. In all of this work, they have maintained a 100% satisfaction rate from constituents. Constituents from across the state have submitted feedback:

  • “I was amazed at how promptly I got a response, as I can only imagine how busy a Congresswoman's office is. My issue was resolved quickly, and would not have been resolved if not for your intervention.”

  • “[Their] assistance was invaluable.”

  •  “Thank you so much! You have been a lifeline to us, and we will never forget all your help!”

  • “You are amazing! Please thank Congresswoman McBride for her advocacy. After years of miscommunications and frustration, you have helped me when nothing I ever did resulted in a resolution. I can’t thank you enough.”

  • “I am so super excited to tell you that my money went in this morning! Thank you so much for your help. This is such good news for me and my family!!”

  • “Thank you so much for your very expeditious response. You have given me excellent service and follow up. Good job!! Best wishes to you and Congresswoman McBride.”

Rep. McBride’s team remains committed to making government work for every Delawarean.

Grounded in Delaware:

Rep. McBride has spent every day she’s not in Washington on the road in Delaware—meeting with seniors in community centers, small business owners, farmers, coastal mayors, and health care advocates. She’s clocked over 3,000 miles on the road since being elected to ensure that she’s meeting with Delawareans from all walks of life.

“Whether I’m meeting with a tech startup in Magnolia or a grandmother at a senior center in Dover, I’m focused on listening to Delawareans—and bringing their voices with me to Congress,” said McBride.

That includes visits to:

  • Senior centers and care facilities across Sussex, Kent and New Castle Counties
  • Farmers impacted by avian flu, helping shape bipartisan legislation
  • University of Delaware’s School of Marine Science and Policy campus
  • Small businesses tackling health disparities like Do Care Doula Foundation
  • Small businesses like SUMURI, a forensics company on Main Street in Magnolia
  • Hospitals including Nemours, Bayhealth, Christiana Care, TidalHealth Nanticoke
  • Delaware’s federally qualified health clinics
  • Dover Air Force Base
  • Local coastal communities with mayors, focused on building climate-resilient communities

In DC, Rep. McBride has welcomed hundreds of constituents through her office doors. Union leaders from Delaware Education Association, LiUNA, the Delaware Building Trades, Delaware State American Postal Workers Union, National Air Traffic Controllers, and the National Association of Letter Carriers. Delawareans visited her office to advocate against funding cuts by the Trump administration. Incredible Delawareans from the Special Olympics, the Delaware Federation of the Blind, Keep Delaware Beautiful and so many others came to share their stories. Importantly, doctors, patients and caregivers joined in the hundreds to advocate against cuts to Medicaid.

“More than anything, I’m focused on delivering results while reining in the worst excesses of the Trump Administration,” McBride added. “That includes calling out the withholding of $10 million from Delaware farmers, nearly 1 million meals from our food banks, and Medicaid that working families depend on. We’ve made progress—but there’s much more to do.”
