Delaware Congressional Delegation, Governor Meyer Issue Statement on Establishment of Alfred I. duPont Charitable Fund for Delaware’s Children
WILMINGTON, Del. – Congresswoman Sarah McBride, U.S. Senators Chris Coons and Lisa Blunt Rochester (all D-Del.), and Governor Matt Meyer released the following statement in response to the establishment of Alfred I. duPont Charitable Fund for Delaware’s Children:
“Alfred I. duPont’s philanthropy has always reflected the spirit of our state of neighbors. With this historic agreement between Alfred I. duPont Charitable Trust, The Nemours Foundation, and the State of Delaware, his legacy of care and compassion for our youngest Delawareans lives on.
“The nearly 50-year journey to this moment shapes an undeniable truth: here in the First State, we will always fight to ensure Delaware’s kids have everything they need to thrive. The $950 million investment solidifies this commitment and will support the health and well-being of young Delawareans for generations to come.
“We thank the Trust, the State of Delaware, and Nemours for their collaboration, and look forward to the many ways the Alfred I. duPont Charitable Fund will build upon statewide efforts to improve health outcomes for Delaware’s youth.”
